The Lactation Learning Collective mentorship program is designed to offer access to those on the path to IBCLC looking for clinical mentorship hours.

The IBCLC’s that are a part of the LLC do not offer chief mentorship but can be added to your Pathway package as a mentor.  

The LLC program fulfills the requirements of Pathway 2 and 3 for “directly supervised lactation specific clinical practice” through community lactation support groups.  For those on Pathway 1, we highly recommend adding directly supervised mentorship to your journey as well.

Lactation support in a group setting is a valuable skill to add to your lactation education.

In the support groups you will have the opportunity to observe the lactating parent/ baby dyad in different stages of their lactation journeys.

Also, having the opportunity to follow different lactation consultants and view their different approaches in how they facilitate and support lactating parents.

Included in the mentorship program, along with observing and working with families during the group, you will have a chance to discuss with the mentor the different cases you have observed and talk through different approaches to care for parent and baby dyads.

As an LLC mentee, you will move from observation to having a chance to fully facilitating a support group.
